A stunning collection
Wormsley houses some of the finest works of art and collectors’ pieces created. As with the Wormsley Library, the Getty family has created a wide and varied collection that ranges from Thomas Gainsborough, Sir John Everett Millais, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Sir Edward Coley Burne-Jones to David Smith and Euan Uglow, together with pieces from a more contemporary era such as Banksy, Cindy Sherman and Jeff Koons who is renowned for his public sculptures and who has received numerous awards and honours in recognition of his cultural achievements.
The Estate is delighted to make available certain exhibits to the public that they consider to be of an educational and cultural nature.
Certain works of art will be accessible to the public on days on which shoots, library visits, garden visits, cricket events or the Garsington Opera events occur. Access to view these works will be made available to the public for those who are ticket holders of the above events. In addition, for any of the public specifically wanting to view works of art housed within the Wormsley collection or on loan to the Estate, they can contact the Estate Office directly and request a viewing on days on which other events are held or alternatively by arranging a mutually convenient visiting time.
New acquisitions will continue to be added to the Collection and various pieces will be brought to the Estate for public viewing on a rotational basis.
