Wormsley is delighted to be hosting The Wormsley British Armed Forces Charity Cricket Event. The day promises to be a wonderful spectacle, taking place in the glorious surroundings of the Wormsley cricket ground, lovingly created by the late Sir John Paul Getty.
Many famous faces from the world of sport, entertainment and politics will be present, some taking to the field, others joining guests in the marquee, for a day of Twenty20 cricket. The teams will be led by The Rt Hon Sir John Major, KG, CH and the former Defence Secretary, The Rt Hon The Lord King of Bridgwater, CH.
We are proud to be supporting two fantastic charities, Help For Heroes and the Army Benevolent Fund - The Soldiers Charity, and we hope that you will join us for a great day out whilst helping to raise funds for these worthy causes. As well as the cricket, entertainment will be provided on the day by the magnificent 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards Corps of Drums. Widely recognised as the best Corps of Drums in the British Army and having recently returned from active duty in Afghanistan, the Corps will be performing in preparation for their much anticipated appearance at Edinburgh Tattoo.
